PEAK PERIOD TRAVEL ADVICE

We expect the port to be busy and anticipate large queues at Border Control, on your intended date of travel.

Travelling from Dover:

Foot passengers must be at the port at least 90 minutes before departure. This is because the bus transfer to the ship departs 90 minutes before your booked departure time.

We advise vehicle passengers to arrive at the port at least 90 minutes before check-in closes. Check-in will close 60 minutes before our scheduled departure times and anyone arriving at our booths after this time will be unable to travel on their booked crossing. In addition, please ensure you leave sufficient time for any traffic delays/congestion in and around the Port of Dover.

On arrival at the port, you may have to wait in the lanes at the front of the port, which means there are delays at Border Control while mandatory entry checks are carried out by the French Police.

All passports are scanned by Border Control and again at our check-in, so keep them to hand along with your booking reference number listed above.

Sailing Updates:

Tell us your mobile number, correct vehicle registration, and number of people travelling in advance and we can send you SMS sailing updates if there is any disruption.

Be sure to check our sailing updates by following us on twitter www.twitter.com/POferriesupdate before you set off. Our dedicated Customer Communications team will be on hand to help you.

We hope you have a great trip and hope that the above points help you prepare for your crossing with us.
